Friday nights in Union City are getting a new energy this summer.
City leaders and community organizers are inviting residents to kick off the season with the launch of Reimagine Fridays — a new community-centered event series designed to bring neighbors, families, and friends together for evenings filled with music, entertainment, food, and fun.
The first event takes place Friday, May 29 at 6:30 PM at Eagles Nest Sports Complex, located at 6245 Roosevelt Highway.
Designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for residents of all ages, Reimagine Fridays will feature:
- Live DJs, including opportunities for youth DJs
- Line dancing and community participation activities
- Kickball showdowns between subdivisions
- Local food trucks and vendors
- Games, music, and family-friendly entertainment
Organizers say the goal is to create more opportunities for residents to connect, celebrate community, and enjoy quality entertainment close to home.
“Union City, we heard you,” organizers shared in announcing the event. “You asked for more to do, and we are delivering right here at home.”
The event is part of the city’s broader effort to create experiences that strengthen community pride while encouraging residents to gather, engage, and build connections with one another.
From lawn chairs and music to kickball competitions and line dancing, Reimagine Fridays is designed to feel less like a traditional city event and more like a community celebration built around togetherness and local culture.
Mayor Vince Williams and city leadership have continued emphasizing initiatives focused on community engagement, quality of life, and creating experiences that bring residents together across Union City.
Organizers say the new series is intended to become an ongoing Friday night tradition that reflects the city’s energy, growth, and evolving community identity.
Residents are encouraged to bring their families, invite neighbors, and come ready to enjoy an evening of music, entertainment, and community connection.
“This is not just an event,” organizers said. “It’s the community showing up.”
Reimagine Fridays begins Friday, May 29 at 6:30 PM at Eagles Nest Sports Complex.
